Information

The Policy and Preselection Meeting on April 6-7 is fast approaching, so please ensure you have RSVP'd for this event as soon as possible. All participants, both physical and online, must RSVP so we can make appropriate arrangements for attendees.

As a movement we're growing, and there has been a huge push to expand the platform beyond the initial core ideals. This meeting is an important forum for discussion on how the Party will progress, what policies we will adopt, and which candidates we will present to the electorate in 2013.

All full members are eligible to stand as candidates, and all are welcome to present their opinions and proposals to the Party. This Party is yours, and you determine its policies, direction and outcomes.

As always, we will facilitate remote participants as we understand not everyone is able to get to Sydney for the meeting, but we hope to see you there! Tickets are priced to cover costs, however if you can't afford the entry price, shoot us an email, and we may waive the fee.

Update: remote attendees should have received information on how to participate. If you have not received such information via e-mail, see the announcement at the mailing list archives: http://lists.pirateparty.org.au/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi/archive/Anno/20130405225437/

Tickets/RSVP

RSVPing is essential for members attending the meeting and members taking part online.

The cost is $35 per person. Members experiencing financial hardship should contact [email protected] for assistance.

Party Platform and Policies

Voting on policies will happen after the deliberative process. Procedural and amendment votes will only be available for those in attendance, adoption votes will be party wide. Policy submissions and topics for discussion should be circulated and on the wiki/forums, and [email protected] informed well in advance, so that an agenda can be formulated. Time constraints and unpreparedness will probably lead to a rejection of unannounced inclusions.
