- The date has been locked in for that weekend by the NC at the last NC meeting, this was announced via email
- if there is any backlash about this date it will be considered, email [email protected]
- it would have to be something pretty big to change it at this point
- if there is any backlash about this date it will be considered, email [email protected]
State coordinator reports:
Vic. - Ben McGinnes
- We had our monthly meeting on the weekend, nothing major to report though as it was just a catch-up of both candidates and I.
- one attendee was missed and has been emailed as followup
QLD - Liam Pomfret
- We had a very fruitful time with our meetings last week.
- The Wednesday online meeting saw someone from a regional center (Toowoomba) who was interested in the party show up. We answered his questions, and he ended up joining on the spot. He's hoping to arrange some face-to-face meetings with people in his city, starting with a core group of himself and 4 others who were interested.
- At our Thursday meeting in Brisbane, we had a good turnout of 7 people, including 3 first timers (though all had been members for quite some time).
- We talked mainly about how things for the app that's being worked on by people up here, as well as ways to help sell the party, it's policies, and candidates. (app + short video profiles for candidates)
- Plans for the app currently would have it incorporating a news feed from the ppau website, a feed from the ppau twitter account, a calendar of meetings and events (again taken from website), a section outlining in detail all of our policies (which would be hard coded into the app, so people could refer to that offline), and once we have them, a section for people to go directly to videos the party has put up
- Videos don't just have to be for candidates, (incl 'average joe' videos, members, ex-labor/green/lib voters) but certainly candidates at least. Basically short video interviews of people in the party, asking things like why they joined, why they think the goals of the party are important, etc, etc.
- Reminder for people to check out campaigns committee
ACT - Glen Takkenberg
- no meetings since last general meeting
- Have been looking at venues for the congress
- Have whittled it down to two good venues - awaiting responses from one still
NSW - Simon Frew
- Monthly Sydney Meeting next Saturday, Paragon Hotel, Noon.
PDC Report - MarkG
- Work groups currently looking into policies on:
- government transparency
- privacy
- civil liberties
- environment
- asylum seekers.
- All are welcome to join, more is always better.
- email [email protected] if keen
- Education will likely be quite sizable and should be in next round of Work Groups.
