Voting System Data Usage

Voting system data is collected via the poll administrator and voters and stored by the system in a database. When a poll is complete the data in the system is manually extracted by the poll administrator for use to determine which motions passed and which persons won nominated positions within the party. Voting data for a poll is also extracted and anonimised by the poll administrator for use by independent scrutineers.

Determining Outcomes of a Poll

Motions

As of August 2012, the poll administrator determined which motions have passed.

Party Positions

As of August 2012, the poll administrator uses the Schultz Method to determine which person won each nominated position. The process to do so can involve running the poll to determine who won a position, accepting the candidates nomination, and then in the case where a candidate nominated for multiple position rerunning the poll sans candidates who have accepted other nominated positions to determine subsequent position winners.
