Minutes

Previous meeting's minutes

Member Database update

  • This is coming along nicely
    • we seriously need to raise the funds
    • no real response from the AfP people
    • one party says they will discuss it
  • Pitch: New membership database system easier, safer and better than civicrm or nationbuilder
  • we are more likely to get donations from individuals than parties
  • We really want them to help advertise the crowdfunding too
  • We have the making's of the pozible campaign here: http://pad.pirateparty.org.au/p/ThoughtWorksCrowdfundText
    • Brendan is going to add stretch goals and some of the pricier rewards tonight
  • I think we should do a member mail aiming for say Saturday... and include this, CSGO update, Strategy reportback and Treasurers Report (if that is good to go)
  • Demo video from thoughtworks
    • would need shorter edited version if to be used for pozible
    • maybe can try edit one down, a promo video of sorts
    • we could sell it better with screenshots and content. Keep it focussed

Strategy Meeting

  • This was good
    • have a plan to get states going
  • Planning for another one
    • Maybe not so soon as next week
    • also Tassie has weekend away (and will discuss congress there also)

State Branches & ToR

    • this is mangled from what Brandon sent Frew, which is based on the federal election committee
    • made it a bit more for emergent state structures
    • it probably needs a little more work, but the basic idea is there
    • edits discussed around working for $4000 candidate funding, dont want there to be a barrier to states getting organised because of $4k goalpost
      • section reworded
  • Will need to do serious fundraising for election and may need candidates to self-fund to an extent.
    • states should aim to try raise the $4k to guarantee we can run in that state
    • federal will obviously try pay for what it can though
  • Will need to do votes prior in regard to preselection and AfP preferences. Possibly combined with congress.
    • Will discuss in future
  • See motions

Treasurers Report

  • MarkG has received no feedback so presumably it's OK
    • there's still a few days if you wish to do final reviews
    • it can be adjusted up until we send the members email

Etsy store

    • Shipping estimate... use $10 for Australia. It is just over $8 for <500g + just over $1 for packaging.
    • +$5 for each additional shirt
    • will use $20 for US/Internationa;
  • Note that we have to use paypal for the etsy store
  • Not enough supplies of the white shirt to list, remove from now.
  • DanielJ will supply pictures of badges and stickers to MarkG to list those.

CSGO

Member mailout

  • text goes here: http://pad.pirateparty.org.au/p/PPAUMailoutJan2016
    • need it to go out as soon as its done
      • reportback from strategy meeting
      • state election committees
      • pozible campaign
      • csgo reportback
      • treasurers report?
  • Mail to be sent via announce list etc
    • Though last member db driven mail had no bounces since the emails have been quarantined, but still need to be updated/confirmed with relevant members

General Business

  • Fundraising Strategy meeting sounds like a good idea
    • suggest another Party wide one for it in 3 weeks
  • Fletcher will email Ben sometime before next meeting
