Fusion reports

  • Will forward PPAU financial report to Fusion post adoption at Congress
  • MM needs some help at Fusion level sorting election returns out

  • Values workshop ran tonight, good progress made.
  • Smol drama today: we put out a CTA for the Vic election and didn't actually mention Fusion in the original post about it. Bit of a whoopsie.
    • This inspired some discussion around Fusion member signup
    • In principle, membership of Fusion is meant to be via a branch
    • This is... in some tension with building a more united party
    • "People do need to know that the registered/registrable entity is Fusion and that's the brand/message to be pushed. I also don't agree with the push to de-branch Fusion" - RW
    • Fundamentally, we aren't going to stop maintaining our discrete identity.
    • JohnA proposes a motion endorsing Miles' defending and maintaining Pirate identity in a Fusion context
  • New donations and payments policy at a Fusion level now exists.

Victorian state election

  • 2021 rehash on a smaller scale
  • Lots of phone banking across the parties
  • Need 500, aiming for 750
  • Deadline is the 29th, squeaking in
  • Small Privacy Policy amendment to... actually allow state registration

  • MOTION: Amend the privacy policy to replace "Pirate Party Australia will not sell or otherwise share any information collected for the purposes of membership registration with any party other than the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) as required by the Electoral Act for the purposes of registering a political party." with "Pirate Party Australia will not sell or otherwise share any information collected for the purposes of membership registration with any party other than the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) or state/territory electoral commissions as required by the Electoral Act or equivalent for the purposes of registering a political party. This disclosure may be as part of an electoral coalition as described in section 14.2 of the Party Constitution."
