PPI GA report-back

PPI decision items

• encouragement of AU Pirates to participate in PPI on a personal level
  • with Observer status we could possibly fill various low-commitment organisational roles
  • board, arbitration, lay auditor

• Applying for Observer status
  • Official right to attend and speak at meetings
  • Question around whether Observer status is "affiliation" under 6.1(6) - Alex
  • Jay: if we want a roadmap back to membership, so waiting til Congress means waiting til July on our end and then the next PPI GA after that (Jan 2024) ... potentially just for Observer status
  • We are defacto Observer status anyway, Alex proposes just going straight to full membership at Congress
  • Going via Observer status sends a message of support without going all-in
  • Jay: as the Intl Officer, I will go back to PPI and say that we will put a motion for PPI membership at our Congress in July

Fusion Exec Comm branch rep updates

• Exec committee formally passed a motion to appoint Miles as branch rep earlier tonight
• Miles has had minimal comms with Fusion DRC but understands they have advised Fusion EC
• DRC yet to hand down any sort of public report
• Unfortunate timing that the Luke/Miles clash coincided with Dave's casual vacancy
• Miles invites someone else to give it a go in a few months
  • Dave indicates willingness to take it back on in a few months
• Alex notes that we'll need to elect it as an officer position at Congress (like Policy Dev Officer)
