Minutes

Fusion DRC nominations

  • Fusion DRC seeks a Pirate member, seeking nominations
  • James puts his hand up as a reserve (+1 self-awareness)
  • Fusion DRC to be 5 person body, 3 selected to consider any issue
  • mandrke & Liam also willing, Sean O'Farrell also fine to be a reserve
  • Question of whether the Pirate and Fusion DRCs should or shouldn't be the same person
    • "The jurisdictional boundaries aren't set yet" - AndrewD

    • "E.G. if you get kicked out of PPAU, does that kick you out of Fusion?" - AD

Joint Social Mondays & Fridays

  • Fusion needs social nights!
  • Potential to co-opt Pirates' Fridays
  • Fusion Discord will need to be Lvl 1 boosted to cope with the level of video traffic though, which it isn't
  • Consensus: we're happy to shift provided...
    • They're aware of the video/boost issue
    • We aren't going to stop having a drink and getting rowdy on Fridays

General Business

NC meeting time

  • Fusion EC is perennially running over
  • If we shift later than people can plan around it
  • But if we shift later then that's less constraint on EC to run to time
  • Miles proposes shifting NC half an hour later
  • See motions

Candidate recognition

  • John and Satch aren't on the Fusion website yet?
    • This despite John otherwise being treated as a candidate in terms of organising
    • What's going on?
    • Satch "this is just a website delay, I think"
  • Roger says that both candidates have been endorsed by Fusion Exec
  • Waiting on Fusion Campaigns Committee to approve finalised website content

Complaint against John

  • This is arising from a meeting on the weekend
  • John's metaphorical cup ran over, as is his tendency
  • Sahar was chairing, interpreted as disruption, and has written out a complaint
  • John and Miles have put together a response.
    • also sent to Sahar, which she found odd. Satch concurs - if you've escalated then the two sides of the dispute probably shouldn't be talking directly.
  • Couldn't this have been sorted between the parties before escalating? That's how it should be.
  • John willing to not attend meetings that Sahar chairs going forward, to avoid further conflict.
  • Guess we're largely waiting on Fusion DRC to exist and make a decision now.

Fusion committee debriefs

  • Alex will be Deputy RO in Qld, as of the Fusion EC meeting tonight
  • "[Constitution WG] is wading through stuff as of this fortnight" - Andrew
  • "Policy WG will have UBI advocate people presenting next week"
    • Tuesday night 7:30pm AEDT, should see some extra Pirates there
    • "I'm really glad to see Fusion picking this up, non-Labor lefty parties tend to be post-materialist and UBI pushes back on that" - Alex
