Minutes

Preselection meeting reminder

Candidates

  • Only three nominations have been received - two from NSW, one from Qld and possibly one from Vic.
  • 3 members that were potential candidates have since resigned from PPAU.
  • Motion will likely be put forward at the 27/03/2013 NC meeting to extend the preselection period closer to the meeting date.
  • Candidates need to run in pairs so that the Party name appears on the ticket - secondary candidates are being secured for Qld and Vic.

Crew meetings

  • Guidelines are being created as there is confusion as to the requirements.
  • Reminder that no permission is required to hold a meetup.
  • If you intend to represent the party, permission must be sought first.

Feenicks and the Garbage Truck

  • Feenicks will be out of action for a few weeks due to an injury.

Wikileaks Party

  • Quite probably they will not be registered in time for the elections.
  • Their website has been soft launched - http://wikileaksparty.org.au
  • Organised as a corporation.
  • Party launched too late, after years of speculation and riding the press bandwagon.

Promotional materials approval process

  • Anything that appears official must be approved by the National Council for legal and branding reasons.
  • Requires the "Authorised by..." byline.
  • Material should be sent to the Campaigns Committee who will give a yes/no decision, after which it will be approved/denied by the NC.
  • There are strict laws governing the advertising material - check your applicable local state legislation. Some venues may have additional restrictions e.g. schools.
