Minutes

Congress

  • Announcement has been sent
  • Congress will be on the 13th and 14th July, in Canberra.
  • Proposals for constitutional amendments have closed, so we cannot accept anymore for this Congress.
  • Policy proposals will be open until 9 AM on the 10th of July.
    • This deadline gives us enough time to prepare the agenda and get them printed.
    • Also saves time with poorly formed motions
  • Proposals can be sent to Policy Development Committee for clean up/refinement/proofing etc
  • Several Positions up for election

Copyright review

  • Some months ago we submitted to a paper from the ALRC on copyright.
  • ALRC has since taken all submissions and built a discussion paper from them.
    • PPAU got referenced in this discussion paper a healthy number of times.
  • We now need to submit our views on that paper.
  • Details are here: http://www.alrc.gov.au/inquiries/copyright-and-digital-economy
  • Anyone interested in helping write this, please join the mailing list here: http://lists.pirateparty.org.au/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi/list/copyrevwg/
  • Also anyone interested can join irc channel #copyrev
  • We have about 6 weeks to write the submission
    • The more hands on deck to help, the better
  • Mozart will likely co-ordinate
  • Pad and/or google doc should be set up soon
