  • Brandis has announced a push to crack down on filesharing
  • he has floated a graduated response regime and site blocking
  • we need to be ready to hammer any proposal as they rear their ugly heads

WA Senate Election

  • Redoing preferences
    • We'll be redoing the preferences voting etc for WA, including any deals.
    • WA members will get to decide the preference order for the election.
    • Due to Ludlam being popular, we presume Greens will remain at #2


PDC report

  • TIA Review
    • The submission on the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act is due on Thursday.
    • Mozart and Frew have put a lot of work into it and pretty happy with it so far
    • the reading materials were 90 pages of legalese and a 3,000 page review of said 90 pages

  • Privacy Tort WG
    • Meeting is at 9:30 pm tomorrow night, #ppau-pdc, hopefully after the other working group.
    • If they clash, we'll just use a different channel and tell everyone.
    • Same thing as before: participate if you want to work on expanding our privacy policy.
