Minutes

General Announcements

National Congress

  • It is in Brisbane this year, just locking in a venue (probably the Irish Club) before we do the official announcement
    • Michael is doing a recon tomorrow to do some tech stuff - testing the internet speed, the 4G etc
    • There is a likley alternative option if the Irish club proves unsuitable
  • We'll have the usual online participation options
  • Will have new policies to decide
  • Elect a new NC
  • Mel also looking into some guest/keynote speaker options

State Reports

QLD

  • Have set a date for a Brisbane meetup for the last Wednesday night of each month
    • May not work for everyone so happy to be flexible, but we will lock it in for next Wednesday and see what happens!
    • May instead go with Thursday

NSW

  • Meeting Saturday in Sydney, 12pm Paragon hotel...
  • Brendan and Frew had beers with Ludlam last week, he was in good spirits as you would imagine
  • Newcastle meeting was a fizzer
    • David to leave it in newcastle peeps hands if they want to get involved, in the meantime David and Sam are meeting each Tuesday in Maitland
  • Daniel will start looking into restarting Wollongong meeting soon, depending Doctors visit outcomes

WA

  • Had a post election thing.
  • Next social gathering will probably be at the moon and sixpence because we need more beer on tap

ACT

  • Glen sent out an announcement email to ACT members asking for input on when they'd like to hold meetups, mid-week seems like the preferred option from the couple of responses that he got.
    • Will be holding it next week

Tas

  • Had another in person meeting
  • Incredibly, there were 7 people, which is probably some sort of record
  • Tim appointed tas state coordinator
    • His intended mission is to keep the meetings going
  • One important action item is to find all the people who signed up to be on the state branch formation working group back in November(?)

SA

  • SA can use electronic signature for registration purposes

General Business

  • Rebecca states that if anyone is interested in helping out with socmed stuff, shoot her a message and join #ppau-socmed
    • Fletcher and Rebecca are working out a system for adding people to Twitter on a third party app/site for better overisght, account control
