General Announcements
- Change.org petition
- currently sitting at just over 5000 signatures - but we still need to get to 10K
- so please try and share as much as possible across social networks etc so we can have Ludlam present a nice chunky petition in parliament
- Budget stalled things a bit, need to reinvigorate
- naturally once the relevant legislation is announced, the petition will light up
Congress

- Dates are official, weekend of 19th July, and at the Irish Club, Brisbane
- ensure you raise your hand for positions and nominate, new blood is good and some vacancies are expected

State Reports
QLD
- those in the QLD Branch formation committee got an email last week with some general information
- Keating plans to tee up some time with those people to talk further about general things, which he'll will try and do in the next week or so
- There is a QLD meeting night for next Thursday at O'Malley's in the CBD
- Note: Keating will be out of the country for the following meeting
- also QCLN have stuff planned too: a public Save the CMC meeting is next on the agenda the last meeting at City Hall got about 150 ppl
NSW
- NSW (Sydney) meeting in 2 weekends time
- Newcastle meetings have fizzled, but SamKearns is back in Newcastle so may be some movement there, David and Sam planning a mini satellite congress (get together on congress day for those not traveling to QLD)
Vic
- Nothing to report
Tas
- Meeting held, number of apologies meaning small turnout
- Tim is away for a bit next month, so will have a deputy host a monthly meeting to try to keep regular activity.
- Rundll got to March in Hobart, turn out of about 500 people, met one other pp member there and handed out a ton of flyers
- Tim and Hanrahan talking about trying to get some PPAU-branded talks going provided we can find speakers thinking: policy (not politics, not philosophy), but some way we can help to bring transparency in some concrete way
- wait ti back after next month before persuing further.
SA
- A meeting was held at the Worldsend on 2014-05-14 bus over the federal budget).
- Maybe picked a bad day/time or maybe it was the budget... will try again next week!
- would like to (with the NC) start a SA PR / Recruitment campaign sometime in the next 2 years
WA
- Meetup next week at the Moon and Sixpence
- Fletcher has an interview with WTV Perth tomorrow morning.
- Fletcher mentioned a while ago about reaching out to the VA community in WA and he's had a few meetings with various community leaders. Once there's something more concrete he'll report back.
