Membership report (Brendan)
- New signups have slowed down
- Only 3 new members in the past few weeks
Preference process
- A PR/mailout will be sent to likely parties explaining our process and requesting rationale for why we should preference them
- Results will be discussed amongst the membership on the mailing lists
Campaigns Committee
- Requests will be voted upon/motioned in a block at the end
- Appoint Chanel Gronowski as a Campaigns Committee member.
- Remove James Varoutsos as a Campaigns Committee member due to unexplained absence and unresponsiveness since 23rd April.
- Approve change to the Campaigns Committee: Marketing and Content Materials Approval Process
- Explanation: I forgot an important step, approval by a majority of the Campaigns Committee, other minor text changes following. The process has not yet to be used to approve any material.
- proposed: https://pirateparty.org.au/wiki/Marketing_and_Content_Materials_Approval_Process
- changes: https://pirateparty.org.au/w/index.php?title=Marketing_and_Content_Materials_Approval_Process&diff=3510&oldid=3483
- Campaigns Committee has approved the following motion for the NC to consider funding:
- Motion: Approve the flag design for review by the National Council to finance the purchase of a small number, allow for resizing and padding of edges to meet printing specifications.

- The committee has not selected a supplier
- (A budget of between $150-$250 is expected), a volunteer in Sydney or Canberra would need to source a supplier and ensure value for money.
- Motion: Approve the flag design for review by the National Council to finance the purchase of a small number, allow for resizing and padding of edges to meet printing specifications.
- Discussion over the necessity of a "Printed by" byline in material
- Discussion over whether the flag design is ready for manufacture
Social media for Tasmanian crew
- @ppau_state is reserved for formal state chapters; only ppau_hobart would be allowed at this stage
- Alternative is to seek an official mandate for the formation of a Tasmania chapter
- Motion changed for the formation of Hobart Crew accounts on Twitter and Facebook
- NC reluctant to give approval for Simon Dwyer or Thomas Randle to authorise messages via those social media accounts due to lack of accontability
- Distrust of Simon Dweyer as Brendan and David have never communicated with him before.
- Thomas Randle will be responsible for the social media accounts
- Rules for the formation and running of crews are unclear
- Clarification by the NC:
- Crews are informal meetings of a group of people with no authority. What is being requested, (authorisation), is more appropriate for state chapters.
- Social media accounts for the Hobart Crew for the purposes of advertising and coordinating meetings are acceptable, but any statements that require authorisation should be done from the Federal party accounts.
- A crew formation process will be needed for crews that require social media prescence.
- Reworded motion has been proposed by Thomas, see motions.
Manly Crew
- Brendan intends to start holding meetups in Manly (Sydney) in the future
Newcastle Crew
- Proposal by David to allow George Campbell to operate a Facebook account
- Decision deferred until the following week, to allow time to discuss social media guidelines for crews.
Finance Report (Money In / Money Out)
- $320 in donations via Paypal for the month of April
- $320 in donations via Paypal so far this month (May)
- Total donations for May so far estimated at $500+
- Bank account (Direct Debit) has not been checked recently
- Money should be transferred out of the Paypal account on a fortnightly basis in case Paypal arbitrarily siezes or freezes the assets.
