Pozible Campaign
- Thomas had a meeting with the Pozible rep
- Projects should be at ~70% completion a week before finishing for a good chance of success
- We should cross reference previous backers against current ones and contact those that haven't contributed
- Focus on several large ($1k) donations
- Shoutouts on social media for contributors that have provided handles
- Simon suggested contacting more NGOs and chasing The Greens again
- Thomas: We should spend ~$100 on social media for the campaign
- Mark: We can afford that
- Keating: Needs a more detailed strategy before voting, suggests CFV
- Frew: Less twitter
- Thomas: A mix of of FB/Twitter
- Frew: Should contact influential followers of @piratepartyau for support
- Keating: CFV doesn't need to be fine grained with exact amounts for each platform etc
- Thomas: Good opportunity to use the new social media volunteer
- David will be used as authorised address for ads with Fletcher as backup
Election
Beureaucracy
- We have a couple of weeks to get everything in order
- Voting systems, candidate applications need to be ready
- Fletcher to set up wiki pages for nomination process and send candidate mailout (Action items)
Fundraising
- Simon: We need a campaign ready to go when the memberdb one ends, regardless of success
- Target and timetable yet to be determined
- Keating: Minimum enough to fund the election, advertising as stretch goals
- The ad the AEC ran due to a picture change is bonus advertising (Though it did cost $500)
- David: We need a fundraising campagin that isn't contingent on a target
- Simon: a $4k campaign is doable easily
- Simon has called an election committee meeting for 18/4, NC members are asked to attend
- Was hoping to get states working on their own fund raising but there wasn't enough interest in state based election committees
- Working out how many states to run in will have to be done as we go, too many moving parts
- David: How about crowd-funding for each state? The states that manage to make the $2000 + fees get to run a candidate. Stretch goals for advertising and/or second candidates. If we only get enough for one candidate in a state, then it's up to our discretion.
- Simon: Not enough resources
- Thomas: Accept nominations then pick the states we can afford (others would have the option of self funding)
- David is concerned that a large minimum target will result in an unsuccessful crowdfunding campaign
- Simon suggests $4k as an easy target
- Mark: Direct funding to solid candidates in states that need a higher profile, also needs to be balanced against which states are viable on a state level
Social media team
- New volunteer Twisty (@drtwiisty1)
- Been tweeting over the past few days and has read the socmed guidelines
- What sparked your interest in pirate politics?
- "twisty_ : MarkG: easy. all the other party policies suck. Too little and no references. PPAU policy largely reflect mine."
- Anything we should know that's going to bite us on the arse in the future?
- twisty_ : Fletcher: I'm a farmer. So ... twisty_ : Nothing that springs to mind twisty_ : I'm not superstitious
- Thomas to setup tweetdeck access (Action item - Done)
- See motions
Snowden Talk
- In exchange for some promotion the party gets 10% off tickets, a ticket for David and Frew and two free tickets for each show
- David and Simon will donate the cost of their tickets to the party
- Too much regulation to raffle the free tickets but they can be sold/used to incude donations
- Pozible rewards may be possible but will run into problems if timelines don't match up or goals aren't met
- Questions need to be submitted beforehand,
- David to circulate draft pad for questions (Action item)
