Previous Meeting Minutes (Tom)

- Original minutes didn't include CFV
- Discussion took place as to whether there was a quorum on the CFV or not
- Tom's current interpretation is that the Absolute two-thirds vote majority is those that make up the current quorum for the meeting or motion in progress.
- Mark suggested this is how it is always been done
- Emily stated this was her interpretation
- Simon mentioned nobody had ever challenged this interpretation
- Consensus was that the CFV met requirements to be accepted

- Tom cleaned up some abstains and Alex arriving late and only voting on the close meeting
Governance (Tom)
- Tom expects meeting procedures to follow convention
- Commenced work on NC Standing Orders https://pad.pirateparty.org.au/p/2018-nc-standing-orders
- Expects to put it forward at next NC meeting in two weeks time
Batman by-election (Tom)
- We didn't have a candidate nominate for the Batman by-election.
- We received offers of volunteers to assist any candidate nominees.
- Alex to write to the offers of volunteer time to thank them.
Socmed campaign (Tom)
- Tom announced that the previously approved Facebook campaign had been set up.
General Business
- Tom advocated for noting a review on copyright censorship and a PR (press release) on data breach laws.
- Simon mentioned our PR list is ineffective because it is out of date.
- Mark mentioned that any PR is still content for our own site.
- Tom would email around a Pad for PR
- John August mentioned he wrote the NSW Humanist submission a the Religious Freedom Inquiry but he was unsure if PPAU had.
- Peter noted that Australian Pastafarians also put in a submission, that it may mention Pirates but he was unsure
- Tom commented that submissions would be made public sometime in March.
