National Council Meeting 23rd July 2020

Donation system issue

• https://payments.pirateparty.org.au/ is currently borked
• Nick (IT team) thinks it's a payment processor issue
• Alex to investigate
• Can still use PayPal or direct deposit, CC hidden from donations page as an interim

Congress Preparation

• Alex has successfully installed Belenios, semi-successful test
  • UX is definitely worse than Oyster
  • No reason why it can't be usable in time for Congress

• TODO: schedule a couple of dry runs on the two preceding weekends, with weekly meetings from now until Congress ("off" weeks being informal)

• General goal is for everyone to be able to address Congress by voice (and video if they want to)
  • Miles wants all NC to be on video for propaganda reasons
  • Main video to still go on YouTube livestream - Alex
  • Miles wants watch parties, to retain social elements
    • watch party swag instead of spending several hundred bucks on AV gear?

Potential CAPs (Bryn)

"I don't really know how to write a CAP, so I'm proposing them"

• Formalisation of caretaker powers
  • Old NC works as caretaker
  • All candidates "join NC" until formal results announced
    • Those running unopposed don't really need a vote anyway...

• Formalisation of what happens when NC numbers drop too low
  • proposal: DRC appoints a caretaker NC to bootstrap NC back into existence
