ESports partnership (Miles)

  • XP or UQU Esports, may contribute $500 to the competitions with an expectation of *good* publicity for our party. League of Legends, Counterstrike. $200 to $500.
  • Pip: Some things to be considerate of when negotiating sponsorship / promotion:
    • Shoutouts from casters
    • Naming rights (name the stream / comp)
    • Logo or image flashes when going to ad breaks or in between games (STAR WIPES)
    • Think of expression as a % of the prize pool - if we're paying for the whole thing...
    • Let them propose $$$ amounts to see what we can get if they have an existing model
    • Shoutouts at awards presentation ceremony
    • "Remember they're probably pretty low budget too"

Second Life Pirate Simulation (LeeG)

  • General acclaim for the environment. A lack of laser sharks was noted by members of the NC but LeeG provided assurances this can be remedied.

NMBC shenanigans

  • Shenanigans with Facebook today. Blockathon.
  • Miles has had a briefing invite for Feb 19th, NC have Zoom link
  • "I'm not sure where these guys come from" - Miles
  • FB comments to ScoMo, Albo, Bandt absolutely scathing
  • The thing is that this law is super, super broad.
    • AlexJ makes the argument that everyone is a "news business"
  • Google meanwhile have broken out the chequebook.

Feedback from Bryn regarding the Bureaucracy debate.

  • EMAIL MOTION: Appoint Gabe Allen, Jay Stephens, Lee Geraghty and Kevin Huang to the International Relations Committee.
    • Put by: Alex Jago (11th February 2021)
    • Ayes 5 (FG, MW, PR, AJ, JA)
    • Motion carried 18th February.
  • MOTION: That the NC approve Alex and Miles to negotiate with XP Esports for a potential sponsorship deal to be approved by the NC later.
    • Put by: Miles Whiticker
    • Passed unanimously 21:10 AEDT.
  • MOTION: close meeting (Miles)
    • Passed unanimously at 21:51 AEDT.
