15:30 <@alexjago> START MEETING
15:30 <@MilesW> gday
15:30 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
15:31 < AndrewDatThePub> We have smooth jazz here
15:31 <@alexjago> My apologies for not preparing an agenda
15:31 <@MilesW> id like to propose we have a short report back from our sydney crew to open the meeting
15:31 <@MilesW> or would anyone prefer we go directly to preselection business?
15:32 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
15:32 <@alexjago> I'm happy to take 5 minutes for Sydney talk to allow time for stragglers
15:32 < BrandonS> I'd agree with that
15:32 < Tania> I'd love to hear from the Sydney people.
15:32 <@MilesW> i nominate johna to take that one, unless he'd like to delegate ;)
15:34 <@alexjago> Candidates, I'll be messaging each of you to verify identity
15:34 < The> John Wilson has joined
15:34 < JohnA> Ok will do. Enjoyed speakers and had a discussion. Did not have pirates than the starters apart from Katherine. But not a great deal of interest in me running for wentworth. Could still call for volunteers if we have an idea of what we need.
15:34 < AndrewDatThePub> John, AndrewD, Sara and Kate are all together in a Sydney pub.
15:35 < The> Copy That. I am aboard my vessel in Brisbane.
15:35 <@MilesW> hello john wilson :)
15:35 <@MilesW> folks john w is a union activist from queensland who i met recently who is very interested in joining and supporting the party
15:35 < The> Miles, thank you for the invite
15:36 < BrandonS> Welcome
15:36 <@MilesW> i believe he is speaking through a voice to text program
15:36 < The> Hi, all. I'm typing tonight.
15:36 <@MilesW> john that sounds really exciting about wentworth. who was interested in you running, and did you discuss your candidate platform?
15:36 < AndrewDatThePub> Who is the The?
15:37 < The> Miles, I am the former President of Trades Hall in Canberra
15:37 -!- The is now known as John
15:37 < John> Just opdated
15:40 <@MilesW> john august, did you discuss the wentworth byelection at speakers corner?
15:40 <@MilesW> and did you discuss your candidate platform?
15:40 < JohnA> Andrew outlined some policy ideas I spoke generally. The agreed threshold here is we need 20 volunteers to be worth running a campaign in wentworth.
15:41 <@MilesW> how did you get 20? did you discuss volunteer allocation between booths?
15:42 < AndrewDatThePub> Started at 5, then diubled until everyone said yes.
15:42 < JohnA> We did not get 20 we said we needed 20. We could put a call out on the forums.
15:43 <@MilesW> haha souds good andrew
15:43 <@alexjago> FWIW, I generally agree with 20. The nomination-reform section of our policy now implies 10 though :)
15:43 <@MilesW> well id like to get an NSW mailout about wentworth call for volunteers drafted asap
15:43 <@MilesW> id also like a post on forums, facebook and the NSW twitter
15:44 <@MilesW> john A, can you arrange to have someone draft the call for volunteers email? it doesnt have to be you
15:44 <@MilesW> id also like you to organise someone to make a post to the facebook group
15:44 <@MilesW> it will be good for your candidate exposure if you do it ;)
15:45 < John> Miles, if this request is for me, then yes of coarse I can
15:45 <@MilesW> sorry john wilson, our wentworth candidate is named john august
15:45 <@MilesW> ill try to type out his full name for the rest of the meeting to avoid confusion
15:45 <@alexjago> John: if you could rename to JohnW that'd be appreciated
15:45 < John> Copy that Miles. Sorry
15:46 <@MilesW> andrewd/john august, id also like to know if either if you have access to NSW twitter. if not can you coordinate with alex to get onto it?
15:46 -!- John is now known as JohnW
15:46 < JohnA> Ok I will draft the letter.
15:46 <@alexjago> OK, shall we commence?
15:46 <@MilesW> soudns good alex. go for it
15:46 < SaraJoyce> Oh good we have a nsw Twitter? Please share
15:46 < AndrewDatThePub> I do not have access
15:47 <@alexjago> OK, BrandonS has requested to go first
15:47 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
15:48 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
15:48 < BrandonS> If that's okay with everyone else
15:48 <@MilesW> yes please
15:48 < KateBowman> Go ahead
15:48 < Tania> Absolutely
15:49 <@alexjago> BrandonS has nominated for a Queensland Senate candidacy. His info is here: https://pirateparty.org.au/wiki/Federal_Election_2019#Brandon_Selic
15:49 < stbernard`> Title: Federal Election 2019 - Pirate Party Australia Wiki (at pirateparty.org.au)
15:50 < BrandonS> Hi, my name's Brandon Selic, I'm a lawyer from Queensland, currently based in Brisbane. I've been a member of Pirate Party Australia since it was formed pretty much, and have previously served as the Queensland State Coordinator and worked on the policy development committee.
15:52 <@MilesW> i guess we have a chance to ask our candidates some questions
15:52 <@MilesW> before we have someone second their nomination
15:52 <@alexjago> I guess I'll ask this question of everybody: "What do you think is fairly rare about yourself that makes you a worthwhile candidate?"
15:53 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
15:54 < joefuri> Can you repeat the question
15:55 <@alexjago> joefuri: yes, and I'll repeat it each time: "What do you think is fairly rare about yourself that makes you a worthwhile candidate?"
15:55 < JohnW> Is this a question to all current endorsed candidates?
15:55 < BrandonS> I've worked as a community lawyer for the majority of my career, so I'm used to advocating for the positions of people in the community who might otherwise not have their voices heard. I feel I can take this experience to represent the varied positions of the people of Queensland.
15:55 <@alexjago> BrandonS: thanks
15:55 <@MilesW> thanks brandon
15:55 <@MilesW> i have a question as well
15:56 <@MilesW> what would you like the focus of your personal electoral campaign to be?
15:56 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
15:56 <@MilesW> what issue or policy
15:56 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
15:56 <@alexjago> JohnW: we have no current endorsed candidates. This meeting will hopefully give us some. We may run more.
15:56 < joefuri> I've had 40 years experience,dealing with government,and I'm still alive.
15:56 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
15:57 < JohnW> Thanks Alex. Population Surveillance & Population Control High Tech
15:57 < joefuri> The failings of the current 2 party system
15:58 <@MilesW> hang on folks. we're just going through the candidates one by one at the moment
15:58 < SaraJoyce> I joined the PPAU in 2013 after a couple of years of working on the Gonski Campaign for the teachers federation working with Gillard and Rudd and many others. After Abbott appointed himself minister for Women I ran a hard campaign to get him to appoint someone else to be appointed garnering 13.000 signatures. I since have worked for local and state
15:58 < SaraJoyce> governments in IT and have been a campaigner for change with lgbti rights, indigenous rights and Women’s Rights. I would also be the first Trans Woman in the senate if elected.
15:59 < SaraJoyce> Sorry if that was out of turn but there ya go
15:59 <@MilesW> do what you want cause a pirate is free (:
16:00 <@alexjago> It's all good, just copy and paste when it's formally your turn
16:00 <@alexjago> Further questions for Brandon?
16:01 < BrandonS> Last time I campaigned because I wanted to show voters that there were alternatives to the two major parties. That hasn't changed, and the situation has only gotten worse. Last time I focused on mariage equality, offshore detention and environmental issues in Queensland. We got one of those. I still feel offshore denetion is a big issue; it's domin
16:01 < BrandonS> ated nearly 20 years of election cycles. But we still have to look at environmental issues in Queesnalnd, and energy issues throughout the country.
16:03 < JohnA> No questions suggest you set a timeout for questions.
16:03 < AndrewDatThePub> Does this need to be sequential? The candidates already wrote their application. Here we get to ask questions.
16:03 < SaraJoyce> seconded
16:04 <@alexjago> We do need to formally nominate and second people
16:04 <@alexjago> Historically we've gone by person, is all
16:04 <@MilesW> ok shall we call for a second for brandons nomination?
16:04 < SaraJoyce> i second
16:04 <@alexjago> Thank you SaraJoyce
16:06 < JohnA> I nominate Sara Joyce.
16:06 <@alexjago> Thank you JohnA. I second SaraJoyce
16:06 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:06 <@alexjago> (I was taking it as implicit that people could self-nominate)
16:06 < AndrewDatThePub> I nominate Kate Bowman
16:06 < joefuri> second
16:07 < AndrewDatThePub> Ok, I second Kate Bowman
16:07 <@MilesW> i nominate myself, Miles Whiticker
16:07 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
16:07 < Tania> I will also self nominate. Tania Briese
16:08 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has quit [Client Quit]
16:08 < JohnA> I second miles.
16:08 < joefuri> Ill second that
16:08 * alexjago checks constitution. Yep, it only says that you must be nominated. Self-noms are go
16:08 < SaraJoyce> please clarify who you are seconding please
16:08 < AndrewDatThePub> Which state are you in @Tania?
16:08 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
16:09 < CliveMyers> If that's the trend then I self nominate as well and am happy to give some detail.
16:09 < Tania> Victoria
16:09 < KateBowman> Thank you everyone.
16:09 < JohnW> All, I live in the Federal Seat of Bowman here in Queensland. I would like to nominate for this seat.
16:09 <@alexjago> joefuri and CliveMyers, I still need to formally verify you
16:10 < joefuri> Yes its Me
16:10 < CliveMyers> No problem
16:10 <@alexjago> JohnW: we have a minor issue there - the party by-laws say that nominations need to be in 3 days ahead (this is why I take self-noms as a given)
16:11 < KateBowman> Apologies. I keep dropping out from the discussion. I’m on my phone.
16:11 <@MilesW> pub wifi hooray (:
16:11 <@MilesW> i suggested to the NC that we run a second round of preselections in 1-2 months... we can discuss that at the end of the meeting
16:12 < JohnW> Alex. I'm not sure I follow. But I will adhere to your ruling of coarse.

16:12 < BrandonS> Did anyone have any further questions of me?
16:12 <@MilesW> do any nominations still require a second? and is there anyone here who still needs to nominate?
16:12 <@MilesW> also is anyone who has lodged a nomination but now absent?
16:12 <@alexjago> Shannon Smith, to the latter
16:13 <@alexjago> to be fair, his nomination was "I'm available if needed"
16:13 < CliveMyers> yes, I don't know the process, Alex can you advise what I need to do?
16:14 <@MilesW> yes id love to second clive myer's nomination
16:14 <@alexjago> CliveMyers: (and joefuri): I've PMd you (if you're using webchat you should have another little tab) - just respond to that
16:14 < Tania> Did anyone second my nomination? I know Victoria is a long way from most of you, but I am keen!
16:15 < JohnA> I second tania.
16:15 < CliveMyers> I am on Chrome Bowser. Tab?
16:16 < KateBowman> BrandonS I don’t have any more questions
16:16 <@alexjago> CliveMyers: within the KiwiIRC interface
16:17 < CliveMyers> Pardon my ignorance but I have never had a reason to use IRC so "within the KiwiIRC interface" doesn't actually mean anything to me.
16:18 < BrandonS> If there are no further questions, I1 unfortunately have to take my leave. If people wish to ask me further questions later, Alex Jago can provide my email address privately
16:18 <@alexjago> Thanks BrandonS - until next time.
16:18 <@MilesW> thanks for coming brandon :)

16:18 <@MilesW> we'll email everyone after the conclusion of the meeting about upcoming campaign strategy meetings
16:19 < Tania> CliveMyers there is a black bar across the screen with Pirate IRC on the left and settings and home logos on the right.
16:19 < JohnW> Thank you Miles
16:19 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:19 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
16:19 < BrandonS> Thank you, and congratulations to the candidates. i look forward to speaking and planning with you over the coming months.
16:20 <@MilesW> i have a question for sara joyce. what are the main policies and issues you would focus on in your personal campaign?
16:20 < BrandonS> Enjoy the rest of your evenings.
16:20 -!- BrandonS [[email protected]] has left #PPAU []
16:20 < Tania> #ppau is the chat window we are in and I had another one pop up next to it with alex's name in it
16:21 < Tania> CliveMyers does that help?
16:21 <@MilesW> also follow up for sara, are you interested in advocating for LGBTI issues as part of your core platform?
16:21 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:22 < CliveMyers> Got it, thanks
16:22 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
16:24 <@alexjago> OK, by my count both JohnA and joefuri are unseconded. I second both of them.
16:24 < SaraJoyce> @MilesW my primary focus in line with the party will be around transparency of government with a focus on issues ranging from lgbti issues to creating a disaster fund for things like drought for farmers and homelessness. I also have a keen interest in issues with limiting copyright laws and keeping gun control laws intact ever though I love to pew
16:24 < SaraJoyce> pew a bit.
16:24 < AndrewDatThePub> @CliveMyers, would you be OK running on joint ticket with another minor party? If so, which ones?
16:24 <@MilesW> hehe
16:25 <@MilesW> sara you mentioned you support gun control but enjoy shooting. does that mean you would support safe gun use and common sense legislation? (whatever that means to you)
16:26 <@MilesW> anecdote, there is a small battle growing here in qld regarding gun/weapon licencing laws and cosplayers. some cosplayers enjoy military styled or themed characters and are having trouble with their plastic toys being classed as "replica weaponry" and treated like actual firearms
16:26 <@MilesW> there is a related issue to do with gel ball and airsoft
16:26 < SaraJoyce> @MilesW absolutely safer gun use always.
16:26 <@MilesW> both of these issues i am interested in building policy for in the party (but in another time and place)
16:26 < CliveMyers> Not sure of the answer to that. I would have to look at the parties contesting. Obviously having preferences from other parties is a major advantage.
16:27 < JohnW> Case by Case basis Miles. If it stacks up - yes. Otherwise no.
16:27 <@MilesW> i have a question for tania briese. your bio makes you sound very mature and sensible (probably more than most of us). how do you see tech issues and tech usage fitting into your platform?
16:29 < SaraJoyce> im in support of cosplayers but even with live role play back in the “dark ages of the 90’s” we would not accept weapons of any kind... that is when we still had mass shootings. For those who haven’t grown up with gun safety they need to learn that carrying a replica, whether it be plastic or not is still a replica and the last thing we want is som
16:29 < SaraJoyce> e kid to get shot by a cop just for cosplay
16:30 < AndrewDatThePub> @CliveMyers, to be above the line in Senate ballot, there needs to be two candidates. If you are the only one in WA, then we might need to find you a partner. Maybe from another minor party to share costs.
16:30 < JohnW> Andrew, I have a great WA potential Candidate
16:31 < CliveMyers> Details?
16:31 < Tania> Thanks, I think! I was introduced to the Pirate Party by my son, who is a keen tech person, and who actually nominated for the Pirate Party in Qld in the last election. I use technology in my everyday life, and my kids have grown up with technology that wasn't imaginable a few years ago. So I appreciate that technology, both the responsible use of
16:31 < Tania> it, and the need to regulate the use of it in at least some situations, is very important.
16:32 < JohnW> Clive. A Mr. Matt Bale. He is a great on the ground Organiser & comes from the WA resources sector
16:33 < JohnW> I will introduce Clive. Email me at [email protected]
16:33 < CliveMyers> Will do
16:33 < JohnW> Thanks Clive.
16:33 -!- JohnA [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:34 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:34 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
16:34 < JohnW> Clive. Both Matt & I are new to the Pirate Party. But we are both very experienced campaigners
16:35 -!- JohnA [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
16:36 < CliveMyers> Sounds good. I am a founding member but haven't been involved too much until now and am keen to get involved and obviously if I am selected will need help.
16:36 < Tania> In terms of things like the online Health Records, I am opposed to the way it is being introduced, and the potential for misuse, (and I have opted out of it). My son is studying Law and IT so we have frequent conversations about how technology is developing and implications for the future.
16:37 <@alexjago> OK, anyone who feels like they haven't answered "What do you think is fairly rare about yourself that makes you a worthwhile candidate?" - please do so
16:37 < Tania> I do realise that I am not the 'traditional' Pirate, but I don't see that as a disadvantage.
16:38 < SaraJoyce> Tania all good solidarity \m/
16:38 < KateBowman> Well, I dunno about rare but I do think that the PPAU has a worthy policy platform and I would like to help get the message out there. I think many people are looking for an alternative to the two major parties and this is an opportunity for PPAU to step up. I would be honoured to represent the party.
16:39 <@alexjago> thanks KateBowman
16:39 < Tania> Fairly rare about me......I like to listen and understand before I speak. Sadly, this seems all too rare.
16:39 < CliveMyers> I think that common sense and the ability to analyse situations is actually fairly rare. My maturity gives me the ability tolook atthings based on extensive experience.
16:39 -!- AndrewDatThePub [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:39 < SaraJoyce> thank you all for your support guys. I’m heading back to those sweet Blue Mountains. Been a great day for all of us Pirates and candidates. Much love.
16:39 < KateBowman> Happy to answer any questions
16:40 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:40 < CliveMyers> As am I.
16:40 < Tania> CliveMyers well said.
16:41 < KateBowman> Tania listening and understanding are good things
16:41 < JohnW> Alex. I am not a tech savvy person. I am nearly 60 y.o. but I understand the profound impact that the pending tech tsunami will have oin humanity. I am a Former President of Trades Hall in Canberra. I know how to fight fund & win elections. I have done so several times. I am at the service of the Pirate Party both as a Candidate & Logistical Suppor
16:41 < JohnW> t person. Thanks.
16:41 < JohnA> Outa here soon.
16:41 <@alexjago> JohnW: thanks
16:42 < KateBowman> I too have to leave very soon
16:42 < CliveMyers> As we seem to be jumping around I will respond to an earlier question. What would my primary platform be? I am very keen on Universal Basic income have been talking about this to any one who will listen for years now.
16:43 <@alexjago> OK, anyone who hasn't answered "What would you like the focus of your personal electoral campaign to be?" (i.e. primary platform) please do so
16:43 < Tania> KateBowman indeed!
16:43 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has joined #PPAU
16:43 <@MilesW> tania is your son eric briese (?) i think alex and i would have met him in the election campaign
16:43 < CliveMyers> I have discussed this extensively on my blog and think this is essential for the future.
16:43 -!- SaraJoyce [[email protected]] has quit [Client Quit]
16:44 < Tania> @milesW yes, that's right. He's still around Qld and would help out if he can.
16:45 -!- KateBowman [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:45 <@MilesW> sara are you heading off?
16:45 <@MilesW> tania that sounds great. id love to catch up and meet him again
16:45 <@MilesW> we will need all hands on deck for the election
16:46 <@alexjago> Looks like our Sydneysiders are packing up
16:46 < JohnA> In my case ip and secular issues. Furthermore both major parties do not provide engagement with the problems we face and we need to move beyond them. Mildly unique about me : my interest in ip and secular issues and critical approach to how politics in engaged with.
16:46 <@MilesW> i have a question for clive
16:46 <@MilesW> clive are you familiar with our new JG policy and how it meshes with a ubi?
16:47 <@MilesW> i will throw in a quick word for myself and my candidacy
16:48 <@MilesW> im interested in my core electoral platform being ubi/JG, copyright and government for the people including direct democracy, transparency, anti corruption, pro privacy
16:48 < JohnW> Here Here Miles.
16:48 < CliveMyers> I have read it previously but would need to read more throughly. Sorry if am a little disjointed as I have just come back from the US and everything has been a little rushed.
16:49 < Tania> Would also like to respond to focus of personal electoral campaign. I am not coming into this with a particular personal agenda to push. I nominated for the party because I feel that the Pirate Party has a broad range of good policies, and I want to support that. Some of my interests include alternative energy, asylum seeker/refugee policies that a
16:49 < Tania> re inhumane, aged care, and promoting the Universal Basic Income.
16:50 <@MilesW> about myself: i think the variety of political and non political community work i do gives me a unique perspective on society
16:50 <@MilesW> i have experience in working with people of all ages, demographics, political/religious persuasions and interests
16:50 <@MilesW> in particular i am mostly interested in grass roots movements and community organising
16:52 < JohnW> Miles. I can help in your work of mobilising grass roots support
16:52 <@alexjago> Follow-up question re UBI: isn't there an interesting tension between the universalist aspect of it, but the necessity to limit it to Australian residents?
16:52 < CliveMyers> Just had aquick look at the UBI / reverse tax. On the face of it looks interesting but I will need to go through it more thoroughly
16:52 < Tania> @milesW. I will let Eric know. He's said he'll come down to Victoria to help us campaign, if he can fit it in with Uni and work.
16:52 <@MilesW> haha no dont steal him from us in qld :(
16:52 < joefuri> Economic Reform : Tax, Stopping government waste and rourts , civil liberties and the Right to Privacy.
16:53 < JohnA> Alexj : there is broader between the idea of universal human right and the fact that in reality citizens have more legally enforable rights and obligations.
16:54 < JohnA> *conflict
16:54 < JohnW> :-)
16:54 <@MilesW> john how do you see secularism fitting into your platform?
16:54 <@alexjago> ta
16:55 <@MilesW> john august8
16:56 < CliveMyers> Not sure I understand the question but in the US and with discussion with many people there, there is a poverty trap that people who work full time can't break out of. UBI would help. This was proven back in the late 60's early 70's when Nixon of all people trialled this. It had the effect of [people trying to better themselves once the pressure to
16:56 < CliveMyers> survive was taken off.
16:56 <@alexjago> CliveMyers: yes, the poverty trap argument is what really sold me on our policy
16:56 < JohnA> Miles: voluntary euthanasia but also religiously inspired policy generally from the major parties.
16:57 < CliveMyers> Obviously we can only be concerned with Australia at this time as social norms (and acceptance) are very different between here and there.
16:58 -!- JohnA [[email protected]] has quit [Quit: http://www.kiwiirc.com/ - A hand crafted IRC client]
16:58 <@alexjago> CliveMyers: that last was in reply to me?
16:58 < CliveMyers> Yes. Also where are we at with nomination, seconding?
17:00 <@alexjago> Everyone is self-nominated; everyone (except Shannon) is seconded
17:00 < CliveMyers> Thanks
17:00 < Tania> As a fellow Victorian, can I second Shannon, assuming he wants to run?
17:01 <@alexjago> Tania: of course
17:01 < Tania> Two names on the ballot would be nice!
17:02 <@alexjago> The NC has been extensively considering the relative virtues of running joint tickets
17:03 <@alexjago> the issue is that obviously some states we'd be #1 and some states we'd be #2, and how to decide
17:03 <@MilesW> we have spoken with and got strong interest from both reason and science party
17:04 <@MilesW> several of you have been part of those discussions
17:04 <@MilesW> id like to invite all candidates to seek out your local meetups for those two parties and start getting to know the candidates and volunteers
17:05 < Tania> I'll see what I can do.
17:05 <@MilesW> the exact mechanism for deciding preference and slot allocation is TBD though... we will need lots of input and thought from the party
17:05 <@MilesW> most importantly we'll need all of you our candidates to lead the way with forming local links and telling us what is possible in your area
17:05 <@alexjago> Admin note: I've got the chat logs, and have been and will be collating all questions and answers. Later this evening I'll send an email to all current candidates inviting them to answer any questions that they haven't already

17:06 <@alexjago> (In 2016 we didn't do this because we went candidate by candidate, so we just published the logs)
17:07 <@alexjago> OK, I think we're winding down. Can I ask for final responses from candidates please, and then we can finish the formal part of the meeting.
17:07 <@alexjago> Welcome to chat afterwards, of course
17:08 < Tania> Thanks for the opportunity to nominate. I am looking forward to getting to know the Pirates in Victoria.
