Policy Development Officer Report
- There's a halt on policy development until after September 7.
- So no one email suggestions, please, or they will get lost.
- After Sep 7, we'll be issuing a survey to the members asking them to decide the direction we develop policy in.
- The general idea was to offer up to 20 policy areas that members could rank preferentially (like the ballot we just did).
- And it would also include a field for people to write anything we may have missed.
- Policy areas will probably be things like: health, employment, (maybe firearms) etc.
- hopefully we'll be able to issue that between Sep 7 and Sep 14.
- We'll also be revising existing policies after the 7th.
- Introducing additional citations and generally making improvements.
- discussion re Welfare policy details.
- Email [email protected] for details on policies or clarifications etc
Policy Briefs
- https://pirateparty.org.au/wiki/Policy_briefs
- Brief descriptions of our policies to explain to the media quickly.
- Primarily these were for candidates, and anyone doing media relations stuff (eg. President)
- But if you're thinking of talking to people about our policies, they might come in useful.
- One to two sentences, and a five point outline for each policy.
- Of course, it's no subsitute for actually reading our Platform and policies, but it will help if you're trying to remember the key facets.
