Melbourne Crew Meeting Minutes

6th August 2012

Attending members: Mark Street, David Haidon, Ronan Lee Vistor: Sam Cossar-Gilbert Apologies : David Crafti - child ill.

Discussion on outcome of Congress Voting

Dissapointed that no "outside of NSW" representation present on National Council

Discussion on State Party formation

from RL - Formation of Incorporated assiociation requires:

  • Requisite notice to potential membership
  • Setting a date of inaugrual meeting (Vic Congress?)
  • Target date : Monday 10th Sept ?
  • Requires members present to vote on accepting constitution
  • Constitiution text from old wiki available, with name changed, - will review over next week, unlikely to require major changes
  • 5 members for ongoing Incorporation purposes - Treasurer, secretary, etc. Dispute resolutions process - adopt National system

Another problem for later - Members reqired for Political Party Registration - 500

Discussing the elephant in the email

RL - comment "Greens party candidates do not use their official "Compromise green" colour"

Drafted response to David Campbell's email - MS to send with DH's review and approval

Mark Street not voted in as Party Agent by NC also unconfirmed as Victorian Coordinator - Offer still stands - unanimous support of members present.

MS to publish minutes within the week for last two meetings - pad and wiki and pdf

Repeat request to access Victorian members contact details for the purposes of :

  • Nomination of Candidates for Federal Senators
  • Nomination of Candidates for Local Council and Mayoral Elections
  • Increased attendance at meetings which are not being published to sufficient extent
  • Formation of Victorian Party

in the meantime MS to send email to whole of NC to start email process for preselection

Discussion on pirate membership list for victoria and how it could be maintained securely

Overview of Local elections - DH

  • No "Pirate Party" wording allowed on ballots under names of candidates allowed in Local Council Elections but;
  • postal votes used which means no polling booth attendance is required
  • Possible targets Port phillip (Sam CG) - moonee ponds (DH) - moreland (unknown)
