Minutes
Registration process update
- ~ 500 members are currently new, updated or confirmed.
- A 3rd e-mail will be sent out to those who have yet to respond, and NC and selected representatives will begin contacting contacting members after 24 hours has elapsed.
- Planned date of submission to the AEC is Monday.
Freedom of Information request update
- Brendan's FoI request has been delayed until 22nd October.
- No decision made on Part A or B; scope still being defined.
- Rodney is looking for options to appeal his FoI request.
auIGF update
- Other attendees were happy PPAU was more moderate than expected.
- Many groups had much more radical thoughts on copyright.
- Adam (devdsp) spoke on the Privacy panel.
- Networked with other lawyers, lobbyists, ACCAN, ISOC-AU, Internet NZ etc.
TPP
- Brendan will attend the December TPP meeting in Auckland; David Campbell will attempt to attend also.
National Security Inquiry Breakdown
- Attorney General's Department disclosed their submission.
- Senator Ludlam grilled AFP and ASIO, with the former being the most revealing.
- AGD's sole method of punishing failure to decrypt is a 2 year gaol sentence.
- AFP's definition of metadata includes IP addresses, not URLs.of the sites you visit.

Removing PP-Leaders from enquiries@
- PP-leaders needs to have the subscription address changed.
- There is no unsubscribe link, nor is the list publicly accessible.

Independent/non-federal candidates
- Local government election candidates should be handled by a state party, if it exists.
- Endorsement decided on a case by case basis.
- Federal party does not have the resources to oversee local candidates, nor knowledge of specific regional issues.
- Candidates can run as independent pirates, following our platform.

- Motion: the NC endorses the following statement: "Endorsement for local elections is a matter for state and territory parties, and is not a matter for the federal party or National Council. If there is no state party, there cannot be any endorsement.
