Ratification of previous meeting's minutes

  • See motions

Election run-down

  • Pirate Party got 4th place after the Greens with 1.49% of the vote at final count.
    • Dropped below earlier result of over 1.5% due to postals
  • Only minor party to poll over 1,000 votes.
  • Slight media frenzy followed.
  • The result was censored by Sky.
    • Aired Bullet Train for Australia, and not us.
  • Antony Green referenced us on live TV.
  • Covered half of the 46 booths. (aim for all of them next time)
  • Great support from QLD members and congrats and thanks to Mel for putting in such an epic effort
  • Having a clear chain of command does wonders.
  • Next time need more than one person to do the HTV drop offs and to do them further in advance
    • Tight timeframe this time made that hard

Expenses claim - Brendan

  • Hire car for Brendan for QLD Griffith by-election activities
    • Car Hire: $319.24, as detailed via email
    • Fuel: $49.58, as detailed via email
    • Total: $368.82
  • Ultimately fell within election bubget anyway
  • All concur a valid expense
    • Would have been nice if someone could have loaned Brendan a car though

Expenses claim - Mozart

  • Travel to Canberra and event ticket for ADA forum
  • As discussed on emails
  • Total reimbursement of $133.00.
  • Attached via email two invoices for a $67 return coach ticket to Canberra and a $66 event ticket for the ADA Forum.

Banking

  • The account sign-up is progressing, but there is a delay because legally every signatory must sign the same form and our signatories are scattered about a bit
  • So the form is being posted to different branches for signing one by one
    • Ben is next, MarkG will be emailing him shortly with details
  • All is going as it should, the next update will be when it's done.

Press Releases

  • Only two people in the Party can actually issue PRs at the moment.
    • It hasn't been a problem, because usually Mozart is around to schedule or send.
  • Mozart created a guide on the wiki for using Dada to send/schedule PRs.
  • The only decision left to make is who should be able to issue them besides Mozart.
  • Needs competent people as needs to be done right first time
  • Mozart reckons for the moment Presidential and Secretarial positions should have access which makes it five people (or thereabouts).
    • Basically Frew, Mel, Daniel, Mozart + IT officers.
  • This is just for the process of sending, approvals process remains the same

Daniel: how goes it?

  • Surgery successful etc, long recovery, massive painkiller dose, now decreased to a more fucntional level
  • Some post surgery complications, but improving
  • Next surgeon assessment/x-ray 28th Feb.
  • Now fine to return to duties, despite being wheelchair/crutch/deskbound
    • (so nothing that necessitates driving or physical presence yet, but online ok)
  • DanielJ back into Secretary position (normality restored)
  • Thanks to Mozart for acting Secretary
