- AndrewD is very confident for timing reasons that there will be no election this year
- Vic state election is now happening, and after that is December and Christmas
- January/February is essentially never used for elections
- March has the NSW State election
- April likewise would have NSW overlap
- This leaves May, being the last possible month to hold a regular half-Senate election
- Q: chances of separate half-Senate election, as was in media today?
- A: costs outweight gains
