Minutes

PPWeekly joining the SocMed team

  • Starting up PP-Hawaii, joined PPAU as international supporter (also with USPP and PPDE)
  • Goals for PPAU twitter: being there, being helpful
  • Runs @PiratePartyINT
  • "I wanted to take more of an international scope because Hawai'i has such a diverse community"
  • "I'm pretty active on social media, lots of experience on different platforms: YT, Twitch, Discord, TikTok and of course Twitter".
  • International law student, studying online, Very Online
  • NC: Welcome aboard!
  • twisty has visions of an international simultaneous Pirate campaign

Financial Report

  • Key points: we paid for servers, people made donations
  • Fraudulent direct debit recovered
  • Paypal still annoying

Voting Platform

  • Update: work is going well
  • voting.pirateparty.org.au in almost full operation
  • just jumping through the email-sending hoops
  • Expect a test election in the next few days

Re-nominations

  • Miles: renominating for President
    • Miles: likely that we would lose registration, intend to have a plan to pivot to advocacy org
    • Propose to use freed up cash to professionalise
  • Twisty not renominating
    • "I just don't have the time"
    • Willing to stand again to maintain quorum
    • "Esteemed National Council: After little thought and many rums I reluctantly conclude my limited time allowance, chosen lifestyle and work commitments hinder my capacity to contribute appropriately in my current Pirate Party Australia (PPAU) role. With a heavy heart, I will not stand for any party positions this coming term. If the incoming NC wish I will stay on as SocMed officer (fwiw)."
    • Working this weekend, sends apologies.
  • Alex is re-nominating for Secretary
    • "With respect, I disagree with Miles' financial model; I think most of our election cash is raised with elections in mind"

Pre-congress housekeeping

  • Sent out a reminder email
  • Re-bridged Discord and IRC
  • Discord and IRC are both fine as text platforms for Congress
  • Need to put motion text and results into YouTube comment stream

Tech Test on Thursday

  • Clarification: Belenios, like Oyster, is for post Congress voting, floor votes are to be done with Aye/Nay in chat.
  • Want to do a full load test on Thursday
  • make sure we're not overloading Mandrkes' / Satchs' computer
  • Mandrke has performance concerns
  • Satch has a good rig and gigabit/50 internet
  • 7PM Sydney time / 6:30 Adelaide ?
