Membership update & phone banking

  • Outflow currently exceeds inflow, because people forget to renew
    • Brandon, Fred, Miles, Mitch, Andrew volunteer, thank you

PDC and Foreign meeting upcoming

  • Not many viewers but Miles was happy with it

Bilateral outreach reports

  • John August (Secular Party): positive to neutral response
    • AndrewD also reached out to Ian to invite him along to Fridays, but no response
    • John to follow up
  • Fred Gerner (Science Party): Zahar's keen to come along to 3 Drunk Pirates, so that's nice
    • Brandon has spoken to Drew W
  • Miles: "I have been fighting hard to make it clear that Pirate identity will continue despite any merger. We have a place here and globally."

Community meeting

  • Miles: "I want to hold an informal full-party assembly. Updates, discussions, informal polling, strategy discussions, feedback, apprehension corrections."
  • In particular: status negotiation, another call for candidates, and a strategy discussion
    • We don't have a star/lead candidate per se, but Brandon, John, Roger, Dave all willing

Extraordinary National Congress

  • A number of things need an extraordinary National Congress, in particular the CAPs that we'll need to make Fair Trading happy and for merger things
  • "The most successful Pirate Parties in Europe are all part of coalitions"
  • Earliest possible date 13th/14th November if we get notice out on Saturday October 2nd
    • Yes, it will be on a weekend, don't panic
  • Timing trickiness
    • need 28 days' notice for proposals, so we need to be sure
    • and of course 42 days notice overall
  • Expect a CFV in the next week or so
  • Also a Policy Meeting
  • Some preselection also to occur here: we should be ready to go despite anything

PPI Report Presentation

  • Mitch has been looking at PPI, they're above-board financially
  • Jay Stephens has been talking to their Board, happy that they've resolved their previous issues
  • IR Cttee will continue to engage and send Observer-level delegates to their upcoming meetings

Drew W poll response

  • Miles disagrees with the premise and validity of the poll
  • Andrew raises that the view of the NC will be what gets put to the members
  • "Let's just not assume this is a representation of the members, because it isn't"
