We emailed all minor parties stating our intent to preference transparently and democratically, each party was invited to reply with an invitation to Pirate Party members to preference their party. Explanation of our request, intent and the email we sent, is available in our press release here: https://pirateparty.org.au/2013/07/18/pirate-party-leads-the-way-with-transparent-preferencing/

Email response from the Senator Online Party (Dated 8 August 2013)
We're running in Qld, NSW, Vic and Tas with a focus on NSW. We'd like to discuss any potential for like for like or swap preferences (e.g. Qld high for NSW high) or at least agreeing to preference each other before the larger minor parties (Sex Party, CDP, DLP, Family First, Katter, Lib Dem, Nick Xenophon, One Nation, Palmer, Shooters, Wikileaks, Aus Christ), LDP and then the majors (Lib, Lab, Greens).

In terms of a message for Pirate Party members, firstly we think it is important for the "micro" parties to preference each other first and then the minor parties before the majors, to help support and foster a stronger democracy, something I believe The Pirate Party strongly supports. Secondly, in the FAQ's on your website you've noted that the key benefits of Democracy are transparency, discussion and participation, beliefs that are at the core of what Senator Online is all about. We are offering new ways of making decisions just like the Pirate Party, and whilst direct democracy and liquid democracy are not exactly the same, they are very similar with similar goals. As our parties share these goals we hope your members would prioritise our party for support.
