As per "Other business", February 2023 FIRC - [1]:

It was agreed to change Section 3 - Membership, as follows:

(1) Membership is open to all members of Pirate Party Australia. (2) Applications for membership must be made via email to the FIRC chair ([email protected]).

It was further agreed that section 4 - Objectives be modified to clarify that once policy formulation/developing starts, FIRC should handover to pdc or form a temporary WG/committe. Suggested new wording below, changes in bold:

(1) The Team must not communicate with international and foreign organisations without the prior approval of the National Council.

(2) The National Council may grant the Team approval on a case-by-case basis or in broad terms.

(3) The Team is responsible for

(a) communicating with international and foreign organisations as approved and appropriate, and
(b) sharing information between Pirate Party Australia and international and foreign organisations, and
(c) researching improvements in relevant problem areas and reporting its findings to the National Council, and
(d) providing assistance to international or foreign organisations within or relevant to the Pirate Movement that wish to adopt Pirate Party Australia's procedures and technologies, and
(e) identifying, and resolving where possible, problems in international communication.

(4) In carrying out 3(c) above, the FIRC will limit its activities to fact finding and recommendations. Policy development based on the FIRC's work will be handed over to either the Policy Development committee, or (if necessary)

a separate working group drawn from FIRC and PDC members, convened specifically for development of the identified policy.

(5) The Foreign and International Relations Officer must provide reports to the National Council on request.
